Inside the McCreations shop on Hwy 249 — vintage Harley engine, riders gathered at tables

McCreations — Northwest Houston, Texas

Harleys.
Indians.
Nothing else.

Greg Hale has been working on antique American motorcycles for a long time. Knuckleheads, Panheads, Shovelheads, Chiefs, Scouts — if it came out of Milwaukee or Springfield, he knows it.

About the Shop

American motorcycles only.
That's not a tagline — it's how the shop runs.

McCreations is a one-man shop on Hwy 249 in northwest Houston. Greg Hale is a Harley-Davidson certified mechanic who has spent years working specifically on American iron — Knuckleheads from ’36 forward, Panheads through ’65, Shovelheads and Ironheads, the Indian Chiefs and Scouts. Not a little of everything. Just this.

We take the time to bring old machines back the right way: correct parts where we can find them, honest fabrication where we can’t, and no shortcuts on a bike that’s already lasted seventy years.

“Correct parts where we can find them.
Honest fabrication where we can’t.”

— Greg, McCreations

What We Do

The work.

  1. Full Restorations

Knuckleheads • Panheads • Shovelheads • Flatheads • Indian Chiefs • Indian Scouts

Frame-up work on antique American bikes. We start with what’s there, photograph and document what’s missing, and bring it back as close to correct as the parts allow. Restoration work is by appointment — call first.

  2. Mechanical Repair

    Top-end • Bottom-end • Transmission • Electrical • Carburetors

Engine and drivetrain work on American iron. A Knucklehead top end, a Panhead primary, a Shovelhead that’s been sitting — all of it. Greg has seen these engines enough times to know what tends to fail and what’s usually fine.

  3. Vintage Part Sourcing

NOS • Good used • Reproduction where necessary

Years of contacts in the antique American motorcycle world. If a part exists somewhere, we’ll find it. If it doesn’t, we’ll talk about making one. We’re honest about what’s correct and what’s a stand-in.

  4. Custom Paint & Metalwork

Period-correct color matching • Hand pinstriping • Sheet metal repair

Paint and metal done in-house or with trusted hands we’ve worked with for years. We’re not interested in making a ’47 Chief look like it left a custom shop in 2024.

  5. Consignment & Sales

American iron only • No projects that aren’t worth finishing

From time to time we have bikes for sale or take consignments from owners who want their machine to land with someone who’ll take care of it. Call and describe what you have.
